Rose E. Catanzaro, 85, a retired department store saleswoman, died Wednesday (Sept. 8, 1999) in Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Born Rose Ventura in Buffalo, she attended city schools. She worked as a sales clerk in the W.T. Grant store downtown from the early 1950s to the late 1960s.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to cook, bake and knit for her family. She married John C. Catanzaro in 1935. He died in 1991.
Surviving are three sons, Michael of Huntington Beach, Calif., Frank of Orchard Park and John Jr. of West Seneca; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Barnabas Church, 2049 George Urban Blvd., Depew, after prayers at 8:15 in Amigone Funeral Home, 6050 Transit Road, Depew. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
