It was hardly a Miller family reunion when John Miller allegedly crashed his car into Robert Miller's Riverside home early today.
The two Millers are unrelated, and neither is a relative of Northwest District Officer Jamie Miller, who along with her partner, Officer Carmen Menza, arrested John Miller on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
"It was a rude awakening. We have a hole in our house now," said Mrs. Robert Miller. "No one was hurt. We were upstairs sleeping when it happened."
She marveled at the coincidence that her family, the driver and the officer all shared the same last name, though "none of us are related."
Officer Miller said John Miller drove his 1995 blue Oldsmobile into the porch of the house on the 300 block of Esser Avenue at about 4:25 a.m.
"The car was embedded in the porch," Officer Miller stated in her report. She and Menza also charged John Miller with criminal mischief.
