THREE GET BALLOT SPOTS ON INDEPENDENT LINES

One political candidate in each of the county's three cities has filed for an independent ballot line in the November election, the Board of Elections announced.

Irene J. Elia, the endorsed Republican candidate for mayor of Niagara Falls, is running on the "Rebuild Niagara " line as well.

In North Tonawanda, GOP mayoral hopeful Mary C. Kabasakalian will appear on the "We the People" line.

Both women are involved in primaries Tuesday to try to take the GOP line.

In Lockport, 2nd Ward Democratic Alderman Sean M. Smith, who does not have a primary, is bolstering his ballot presence with the "2nd Warders" independent line.

The Board of Elections said Christopher Srock, a Conservative candidate for Newfane town councilman, tried to file a petition to run on the "Phoenix Party" ticket, but the petition was voided because of insufficient valid signatures.
