Robert D. Tupper, 41, of Walmore Road, a truck driver for LaFarge in the Town of Niagara for the last 10 years, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) after he was struck by a tractor trailer on the northbound North Grand Island Bridge in Niagara Falls.

He was born in North Tonawanda and had lived in Wheatfield for the last six years.

Tupper was a graduate of LaSalle High School, Niagara Falls.

An avid hunter, he also enjoyed cutting down trees.

Tupper was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 449.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lorrie Fittante; a son, Mark of Fayetteville, N.C.; his father, Edwin of Lewiston; two sisters, Brenda Cobo of Wilson and Muriel Norwich of Ransomville; and a brother, Brian of Ransomville.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston.
