A Russian man who arrived in the United States just last month has died in a skydiving accident in the Hudson Valley.
Valeriy Sehnayder, 29, of Brooklyn, died Sunday morning at the Ranch Skydiving Center in southern Ulster County.
State police said Sehnayder's parachute deployed but he missed his drop zone. When he tried to land in another area, he hit the ground too hard and died on impact.
He was believed to have made about 500 jumps before Sunday's fatal outing.
Sehnayder's death is the third skydiving fatality in the region in the past four months, and the second at the Ranch Skydiving Center.
