Marcel J. "Monty" Montpetit, a retired lithographer, died Sunday (Sept. 5, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after an illness. He was 71.
Montpetit was a lithographer with Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls and Hoffman Printing in Buffalo until retiring in 1990 after a 35-year career. He was a sports enthusiast and gardener.
Born in Niagara Falls, he lived here until 1969, when he moved to Wheatfield. He moved to Amherst in 1996.
He served as a stateside printer in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Montpetit was a member of St. Christopher's Church in the Town of Tonawanda.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, the former Claudette S. Burns; two sons, Christopher N. of New York City and Jeffrey W. of Amherst; and a daughter, Suzanne M. of West Amherst.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 22nd and Niagara streets, after prayers at 9:30 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Home, 468 19th St. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
