Edith M. Carr, 87, of Winter Haven, Fla., and formerly of Niagara Falls, died Saturday (Sept. 4, 1999) in Missoula, Mont.

The former Edith Salt was born in Niagara Falls, Ont.

She was a graduate of Stella Niagara Academy in Lewiston.

Mrs. Carr had volunteered as a hospital worker during World War II.

She worked for several years for New York Telephone Co. and then was an administrative assistant for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. She retired in 1970.

Her husband, William J., died in 1986.

She is survived by a son, William of Missoula, Mont.; a daughter, Shirley Zambotti of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held today in Cooper Funeral Home, 8028 Buffalo Ave.
