Dennis Powers, a longtime Elma resident, is seeking election to the Elma Town Board in November.
Powers, a graduate of the University at Buffalo, has worked as a senior accountant, controller, treasurer and financial adviser.
Powers is active in the Boys and Girls Club, Elma-Marilla-Wales Baseball, the Iroquois Athletic Booster Club, ICARE, the Iroquois Foundation and the Elma Kiwanis.
He is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
"I am enthusiastic about our town and intend to bring innovative ideas to our town government together with fiscal responsibility and leadership qualities," Powers aid. "My management experience and accounting finance background will enable me to bring a balanced approach to Town Board business.
"My goals as a councilman are to manage the communities' resources, control residential growth by focusing on the availability of town and school district services and control tax rates while preserving Elma's heritage."
