JURY SELECTION STARTS IN REVENGE-KILLING TRIAL

Jury selection began this morning in State Supreme Court in the trial of a man accused of killing for revenge.

John J. Schreier, 26, has been charged with bludgeoning Casey Kaminski on March 15, 1998, in his Claremont Street flat after Kaminski purportedly admitted raping a girl Schreier knew.

Schreier has been jailed since his arrest in Portland, Ore., about a month after the homicide.

David L. Milks, 25, also jailed, will stand trial later.

Five days after the slaying, Kaminski's body was found in a ditch off Steadman Road in Bennington, near property owned by Schreier's family.
