14 TO BE HONORED -- The General Pulaski Association of the Niagara Frontier will honor 14 public officials for their contributions to the Polish-American community. The honors will be conferred during the annual Pulaski Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Creekside Banquet Facility, 2669 Union Road, Cheektowaga.

Brian D. Rusk, association president, said the speakers will be Donald Pienkos, an author, historian and professor at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, and Rep. Jack F. Quinn Jr., R-Hamburg. Proceeds from the banquet go towards the prizes awarded at the annual Pulaski Parade.

Those to be honored are Gov. Pataki; Erie County Legislator Raymond K. Dusza; D-Cheektowaga; Ronald Bennett, a former majority leader of the County Legislature; Lancaster Supervisor Robert Giza; County Executive Gorski; Surrogate Judge Joseph Mattina; and Patricia Jaworowicz, a member of the Cheektowaga Town Board.

Also State Sen. George D. Maziarz, R-North Tonawanda; Mayor Masiello; Cheektowaga Councilman William Rogowski; State Sen. William Stachowski, D-Buffalo; Edward J. Rutkowski, deputy state parks commissioner; John Rogow-ski, former Erie County judge; and Alfreda Slominski, former Erie County comptroller.

GOLFERS WANTED -- The Buffalo Bills Alumni are looking for golfers to join them Sept. 20 at their 12th annual celebrity golf tournament at Wanakah Country Club.

The dozens of former Bills expected to attend include Jack F. Kemp, Joe Cribbs, Reggie McKenzie, Darryl Talley, Steve Tasker, Lou Piccone, Booker Edgerson, Leonard Smith, Al Bemiller, Ernie Warlick, Wray Carlton and Edward J. Rutkowski.

Golfers also will be treated to a cocktail party Sept. 18, and a tailgate party Sept. 19 before the Bill-Jets game.

The three days of events will benefit the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, the American Cancer Society and the Players Assistance Fund.
