Two Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority police officers on their dinner break Friday helped nab a shoplifter with a penchant for razors. As Officers Jim Borkowski and Chad Maloney were walking into Wegmans on Amherst Street, they spotted store security officers chasing the suspect and joined in.
When officers caught the man, they found his pants tucked into his socks. Once he lifted his pant legs up, 20 packs of razors, worth $187.72, spilled out from his ankles, Maloney said, "like a fountain turned on."
Carmello Gonzalez, 26, of Niagara Street, was charged with petit larceny.
