Assemblyman Sam Hoyt, D-Buffalo, literally became a legislative luminary Friday evening as he presided over the lighting of the Richardson Towers on the campus of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center.

Hoyt, who put together a public-private collaboration to light the national historic landmark, participated in the ceremony with representatives of Ciminelli Development Corp., Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

"Architecture is one of Buffalo's greatest strengths and the Richardson Complex is the best we have to offer. There is no reason why this architectural masterpiece must remain in darkness," said Hoyt.
