The union representing the city's non-uniformed employees has ratified a proposed contract, Mayor Robert Kesicki announced Friday.
Terms of the contract, which must be approved by the Common Council, were not disclosed pending that approval. The contract is expected to be on the agenda for Tuesday night's meeting.
The previous contract expired Dec. 31, 1997. The city's largest union, Local 912 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, has about 90 members.
The city had settled contracts with its other three unions this year: the Police Benevolent Association, Local 616 of the Professional Firefighters Association and United Steelworkers of American Local 2693, which represents management personnel.
