Genesee Country Mall merchants, seeking an injunction to prevent the city from demolishing their building, will have to wait at least another week for an answer.
The lawsuit, being heard in state Supreme Court before Justice Edward A. Rath Jr., was adjourned Thursday for one week.
Eleven mall merchants are suing the city, alleging neglect of the 23-year-old mall. The city owns and maintains the public concourses. Stores and offices are owned by individuals.
The 11 mall owners also seek a preliminary injunction to keep the mall from being torn down. The Benchmark Group of Amherst has submitted a proposal to replace the mall with a five-building complex of stores, offices and theaters.
