Golden M. Bowen, 89, of McKinley Avenue, a former employee of the Montgomery Ward Co., died Tuesday (Aug. 31, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, while she was under the care of Niagara Hospice.
A native of Christian County, Ill., the former Golden M. Jeisy started as a buyer in 1945 at the Montgomery Ward store in Quincy, Ill. She later became head cashier in the business office, and she retired in 1967.
Mrs. Bowen moved to the Niagara Falls area in 1970. She was an active member of the former Sanborn United Methodist Church, and a member and past worthy matron of Alpha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine, both of Quincy, Ill.
Her husband, Daniel E. Bowen, died in 1957.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith C. Broeker; two sisters, Carolyn Graff and Norma Pokora, both of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Quincy, Ill.
