A 41-year-old man was arrested late Wednesday for stabbing his girlfriend several times with a knife and robbing her of $30, Detective Lt. Salvatore Pino said.
Charles L. Hill of Ninth Street was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The victim, Jacqueline M. Crochan, 35, of Ninth Street, was treated at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for stab wounds to her right hand, left arm and the back of the head and also for minor knife wounds to the back.
The incident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. when Hill allegedly started beating Ms. Crochan. He hit her, pushed her into the bathtub, stabbed her with a kitchen knife several times, took $30 from one of her pockets and fled the apartment, Pino said.
Police said Hill had a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine in his possession when arrested.
