A team of assessors who will decide whether to confer accreditation status on the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority Public Safety Department will seek public comment at a hearing set for 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Buffalo Common Council Chambers on the 13th floor of City Hall.
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will examine all aspects of the authority's Public Safety Department's policy and procedures, management, operations and support services, according Sharon M. West, housing authority executive director.
The accreditation team seeks to verify that the department meets commission standards for law enforcement.
The scheduled hearing will allow agency employees and the public to offer their comments about the department. Telephone comments also will be accepted at 446-1576 between 1 and 5 p.m., Sept. 28.
Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the hearing, will be limited to two minutes and must address the agency's ability to meet standards set by the accreditation commission.
