Vandals apparently have struck again at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 3189 Main St., the Rev. William Holley Jr. said Wednesday.

Vandals tore down a revival tent at the University District church in mid-August. This time, vandals destroyed the platform that was companion to the tent, Mr. Holley said.

". . . What I'm asking myself and asking God (is), what is the mentality of the person?" said Mr. Holley.

He said he saw the damage upon returning home after 10 days in the hospital. He said the linoleum-covered platform, stored behind the church, was stripped of its covering and its boards torn apart.

In August, vandals tore down the yellow and white 20- by 30-foot tent that served as a venue for the outdoor revival, "Spiritual Health Clinic."
