A city that has waged a battle against prostitution has chastised one of its councilmen who was charged in a prostitution sweep.
The Schenectady City Council on Monday night formally scolded Councilman David L. Bouck for patronizing a prostitute.
Five members of the public addressed the Council in support of Bouck. Two said he should step down.
Bouck didn't comment.
Bouck, married and the father of two children, was charged with patronizing a prostitute at a hotel in the nearby town of Colonie on Oct. 27. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of loitering for the purpose of deviant sex, a misdemeanor, Oct. 28. He was one of 26 men caught in the sting by Colonie police, who had the room under surveillance.
