The mother of two young children was killed Tuesday when her boyfriend shot her in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun and then killed himself in the same fashion.
The couple had a "history of domestic problems," said Niagara County Coroner James M. Joyce.
Tammy Beckwith, 26, of Pierce Avenue, and Mark "Tim" Sorci II, 26, of Linwood Avenue, were found dead on the living room floor of Ms. Beckwith's home about 12:33 p.m. from shotgun wounds to the head, police said.
Joyce said Sorci shot the woman and then killed himself. He said both died of "massive gunshot wounds to the head at around 11:30 a.m." The shotgun was found next to Sorci at the scene, he said.
Police said Ms. Beckwith's children, ages 4 and 5, were in school when the slayings occurred and were turned over to the care of relatives.
