Bread and recognition pins greeted members of the Springville-Griffith Institute & Central School Board of Education Wednesday when they held a regular meeting in Colden Elementary School.
The baskets of bread were presented by the Colden PTA and the pins came from the Springville Village Board as part of its School Board Recognition observance.
The short session gave school trustees a chance to inspect the progress of construction at the Colden School. A gym, six classrooms and a media center are being added to the school.
"The additions should be enclosed by next week," Superintendent Thomas J. Markle said. "The construction is expected to be completed by next summer. Two of the new classrooms are planned for special education students."
