HELPING SABAH -- The Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped (SABAH) will begin its major fund-raising program from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday with an auction and wine tasting in the Buffalo Hilton. The event opens the association's "Button-Up" campaign, which runs through Sunday. SABAH buttons, available for $1 from all area K-mart and Vix stores, offer discounts from retailers and all proceeds from the third annual SABAH Star Week are used to provide special equipment, skating instruction, and insurance for blind and handicapped skaters. . . .
PARK CLEANUP -- Delaware Park is in store for a sweep from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mayor Masiello, Delaware District Council Member Alfred T. Coppola and members of the Olmsted Conservancy will lead a cleanup from the Parkside Lodge.
Participants are asked to bring brooms and rakes; a thank-you party is planned after the work. An awards ceremony recognizing the conservancy's Adopt-a-Park Project also will be held. . . .
CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION -- Five residents of St. Luke's Presbyterian Nursing Center in Lockport who are 100 years old and older -- Ethel Ash, Margaret Rall, Ruth McKibbon, Katherine Blake and Florence Squires -- will be honored at a formal dance and birthday party Friday at 7 p.m. in the center's dining room. . . .
