The Niagara County Board of Elections will be open some evenings and on Saturday mornings to accommodate voters who need absentee ballots because they expect to be confined by illness or to be outside the county on Election Day, Nov. 4.

Applicants for absentee ballots must appear in person at the Board of Elections office at 59 Park Ave. to complete the necessary paperwork, according to Elections Commissioners Lucille L. Britt and Michael J. Beeny.

The board's office will be open until 7 p.m. Thursday, Monday, and next Wednesday. It also will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Nov. 1.
