FALL LEAF PICKUP UNDER WAY IN TOWN OF TONAWANDA

Highway crews in the Town of Tonawanda are doing their annual fall leaf pickups, and Highway Superintendent John G. Hedges reminds residents to place leaves between the sidewalk and curb, rather than raking them into the street.

"Leaves can block storm receivers and cause street flooding problems," he said.

He said residents can expect to see highway crews in their neighborhood about five times over the next two months while the leaf cleanup is in progress.
