Town of Busti residents will see a small tax cut next year under a budget proposal that goes before the Town Board next week.

Town Supervisor Dale Robbins Tuesday said: "Our budget calls for raising $428,000 in real property taxes. That is about the same as it has been for the last four or five years, and we will have a small tax cut for both residents in Lakewood and those outside of the village."

"We are really proud of what we've been able to accomplish," he said. "Our tax levy now is 15 percent less than it was in 1988 and that is mainly because we have reduced expenditures."

A public hearing is set for Nov. 7.
