I would like to comment on an Oct. 14 News article quoting a Broadway Station detective's brilliant deduction about home ownership detering crime. Gee, I would never have guessed that in a million years. I would hate to be a criminal trying to outsmart this man.
Now, I would like to put away the sarcasm and tell the writer and the detective that this is not, I repeat, not a breakthrough. It has probably been known for at least as long as I've been on this earth that home-ownership deters crime. It is crime that drives away ownership. Hello?
