CRASH ON YOUNGMANN TAKES WOMAN'S LIFE

A 27-year-old woman died late Sunday night of injuries suffered when her pickup truck went off the Youngmann Highway, rolled over and landed in a ditch earlier in the day, Town of Tonawanda police said.

Shannon L. Miller, who had listed addresses in Amherst and Akron, died at 11:40 p.m. in Erie County Medical Center.

Ms. Miller was eastbound on the Youngmann near Colvin Boulevard at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday when her truck landed in a ditch, ejecting her from the vehicle, Officer Bill Fleming said.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and it is unknown whether Ms. Miller was wearing a seat belt. Investigators do not suspect alcohol was involved, Fleming added.

A portion of the Youngmann at Colvin had to be closed for a time.
