The second annual multimedia art show "Parks Across Erie County" will take place Nov. 9 and 10 in the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave. Deadline for entry of student and professional work is noon Nov. 6, with work to be delivered no later than noon Nov. 8. The entry fee for non-members is $5 per piece, or $4 for two or more pieces. Garden members and school classroom fees are $2.50 per piece, or $2 for two or more pieces. All entries must be ready to hang and measure at least 12 by 16 inches, with a maximum size of 30 by 40 inches. Artists must also supply their own easels for display and identify the work with a business-size card with name/school, subject/park location, medium used, and price for the work if it is intended for sale. The Pastel Guild will hold its Open Regional Exhibition Feb. 9 to March 2, 1997. The show is open to all artists within the United States and Canada who work in dry pastel (no oil), and who reside within a 250-mile radius of Buffalo. Paintings must be hand-delivered, with jurying to be done by slides. Slide dealine in January 4, 1997. The entry fee for three slides is $20, plus $5 for each additional slide up to five total. The New England Film and Video Festival, presented by the Boston Film and Video Foundation, is seeking works from independent and college student video and filmmakers. Michael F. Kelly, music professor at Jamestown Community College since 1974, was recently appointed to represent two-year colleges on the New York State Association of College Music Programs (NYSACMP) board of directors. NYSACMP, comprised of music school directors at private institutions and throughout the State University of New York system, is designed to improve communication among members schools and to improve collegiate music offerings and services.
