Eugene Mathews, 53, of Buffalo Avenue, died Thursday (Oct. 24, 1996) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after being stricken ill at home.
A native of Greenville, Ala., Mathews moved to Niagara Falls in 1965 and worked at several plants in the city until suffering a permanent disability in 1976.
His hobbies included fishing and shopping.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Payne; two brothers, Johnnie L. of Greenville, Ala., and Isiah; nine sisters, Queenie Burnett of Dozier, Ala., and Bunesby Ridgeway, Melvie Saunders, Essie Parmer, Pearlie Feagin, Yvon Owens, Shirley Barnes, and Annie and Jacqueline; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church, 1366 South Ave. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
