Undergraduate English majors everywhere are invited to a convocation today at the University at Buffalo's North Campus.
The 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. event, on the second and third floors of UB's Clemens Hall, is being sponsored by the Western New York Organization of English Departments as a chance for the undergraduates to meet and share knowledge and ideas.
Subjects to be discussed during the one-day convocation will include public relations and advertising, transferring from a two-year to a four-year college or university, graduate school admissions and journalism as a career.
There will also be readings, and works of art and other programs on videotape.
Victor A. Doyno, a professor of English at UB, is coordinating the convocation.
Members of the sponsoring Organization of English Departments include:
Alfred and Niagara universities, UB and the following colleges -- Alfred State, Buffalo State, Canisius, Daemen, D'Youville, Erie Community, Fredonia State, Genesee Community, Hilbert, Houghton, Jamestown Community, Medaille, Monroe Community, Niagara County Community and Villa Maria.
