The East Aurora School Board this week gave an update on its progress in the search for a new school superintendent, saying that a brochure detailing the job has been prepared and mailed to "all interested parties" as well as a number of colleges and universities statewide, Superintendent Robert B. Fort said Thursday. Fort plans to leave the district Jan. 3.
He said the first deadline for applications is Dec. 1 with a special meeting called Dec. 5 to review those applications. Fort said a committee of three or four board members will meet with Dr. Lionel Meno, district superintendent of Erie II-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Educational Services, to define further the
process Nov. 6.
Meno is assisting the district in the search process at no cost since East Aurora is a component member of Erie II BOCES.
