SCHOOLS WILL GET $30,000 GRANT

Sen. Jess J. Present has arranged for a special legislative grant of $30,000 for the Salamanca City Central School District.

School Superintendent John E. Hogle said the grant will be referred to the Board of Education to determine how the funding "can best be applied to the needs of the school district."

Hogle noted it is the second special grant received from Present, R-Bemus Point, deputy majority leader of the State Senate.

Barbara L. Edwards, a School Board member, labeled the grant "strictly political," adding she "has no idea" how it will be used.
