A sentry guarding an airfield at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center here was shot twice early Wednesday.

Lance Cpl. Wesley Grimm, 22, heard a disturbance at about 2:30 a.m., and when he went to investigate was shot in the right shoulder and the right side of the chest, said Marine spokesman Cpl. C.J. Young.

Grimm was listed in stable condition in the naval hospital on base, Young said. He said Grimm was shot with a 9mm pistol, the type that is general issue to Marines.
