J.D. Sentz scored midway through the second overtime Wednesday to lift Erie Community College over North Country CC, 1-0, in the first round of the Region III men's soccer playoffs.
It was the ninth goal of the season for Sentz, a Frontier graduate. Jon Mackey made 11 saves for the shutout. The Kats will be at Broome CC on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Mike Domm scored three goals, giving him a school-record 21 on the season, as Fredonia State coasted past Buffalo State, 6-0. Tom Cordaro (Clarence), Brendan Lawn (West Sen. East) and Mike Nerone (Wmsv. East) also scored for the Blue Devils and Jad Donaldson (Clarence) picked up his 10th shutout.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: St. Bonaventure ran its all-time record against St. Francis (Pa.) to 11-0 with a 4-0 victory over the Red Flash. Kelly Nagy had two goals for the Bonnies. . . . Fredonia State beat Buffalo State, 3-0, as Kelly Boyd scored twice, Melissa McAuley (North Collins) netted one and Michelle Stephens (North Collins) made four saves.
