A San Antonio jury decided to sentence former all-star Alvin Robertson to 10 years' probation and fine him $10,000 for the burglary of his ex-girlfriend's apartment.
Jurors deliberated about an hour before reaching the verdict. It came after Robertson took the witness stand and pleaded with jurors to give him another chance.
Robertson, 34, who played last season with the Toronto Raptors, could have faced up to 20 years in prison for the felony conviction.
The state court jury found him guilty last week of burglary with intent to commit theft.
