The Lake Shore Community Development Corporation has found a permanent home.
In approximately two weeks the development corporation expects to establish office space at Valvo's Candies on Main Road in Silver Creek. The 12-member board has been holding its meetings in a board room at Newbrook Machine Corp. on Mechanic Street. It was unclear if the board would continue to meet at Newbrook Machine.
The board also is working on setting up a post office box address, telephone number and hopes to secure a computer. The office will contain written information for tourists and potential developers.
Also on display will be a business directory compiled by the board. The directory covers the Town of Hanover and Villages of Silver Creek and Forestville and lists approximately 200 businesses.
An ongoing board project involves identifying land that could be developed in an area from Cattaraugus Creek bridge to Routes 5 and 20.
"We're taking inventory of the property we have and are compiling a list that will be given to the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency," board member Bill Sheldon said.
The list could be given to potential developers. The work should be completed by early November.
Another project the corporation is working on is expansion of a screen printing business in Silver Creek.
