UCLA basketball coach Jim Harrick was cleared by the Pacific-10 Conference of violating NCAA rules in the sale of a car he owned to the sister of a top recruit.

The conference, the university and the NCAA all looked into the sale of a car by Harrick's son, Glenn Harrick, to Lisa Davis-Hodoh on Sept. 20, UCLA athletic director Peter T. Dalis said.

It was determined the car was sold at fair market price and so no advantage was gained by UCLA in the recruitment of 6-foot-1 point guard Baron Davis, the woman's younger brother, who verbally committed to play for the Bruins two days before the sale.

Jim Harrick had signed the title of the Chevy Blazer over to Glenn Harrick early in the summer.
