JOHN G. ALMETER, ARCADE FARMER AND BUILDER

A Mass of Christian Burial for John G. Almeter, a self-employed farmer and builder, will be offered at 9 a.m. Wednesday in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 417 W. Main St. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Almeter, formerly of Main Street, died Saturday (Oct. 19, 1996) in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was 89.

Born in Sheldon, he was a member of the Arcade Kiwanis, SS. Peter and Paul Church and the Yorkshire Knights of Columbus. He formerly served as an Arcade town assessor.

His wife, Anna Reding Almeter, died in 1994.

Survivors include four daughters, Nancy Baker of Bath, Margaret O' Brien of Buffalo, Joan Warner of St. Helena, Calif., and Catherine Wrobel of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, John of Norfolk, Va., and Francis of Lebanon, Ill.; a sister, Madelen Lawton of Orchard Park; a brother, Francis of Sheldon; 40 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.[bprice]
