Thirteen women and two men were arrested Monday by the Sheriff's Department Welfare Fraud Unit, assisted by the city's Warrant Services Unit, with the cooperation of county Social Services Commissioner Bonita L. Quaranta.
The arrests occurred between 10:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Most were arrested at their homes.
Charged with third-degree grand larceny, filing a false instrument, and misuse of food stamps were:
Walter J. Rivers, 59, of 829 Main St.; Vicki L. Harris, 35, of 207 Apple Walk; Kathleen M. Kudela, 47, of 8871 Buffalo Ave.; Susan L. Phillips, 31, of 5666 Lindbergh Ave.; Beverly A. King, 26, of 1028 South Ave.; and Jennifer L. Tierney, 30, of 9455 Niagara Falls Blvd.
Charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and the false instrument and food stamp counts were:
Jeanine Dobbs, 37, of 8B Centre Court; Sharise L. Scott, 27, of 504 Apple Walk; and Cynthia A. Socko, 37, of 215 Hyde Park Blvd.
Charged with petit larceny and the false instrument and food stamp counts were:
July L. Kennedy, 25, of 754 16th St.; Michelle M. Morgan, 36, of 432 78th St.; and Denise A. Christina, 34, of 724 1/2 16th St., who faces two counts of the false instrument charge.
Nancy A. Hatchett, 36, of 2257 Whitney Ave. was charged only with third-degree grand larceny and filing a false instrument. Michael W. Mulholland, 31, of 428 78th St. was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and the false instrument count. Donna R. Minnick, 28, of 906 Niagara St. was charged only with petit larceny and the false instrument charge.
