WHEATFIELD -- Town Supervisor Timothy E. Demler has been readmitted to Buffalo General Hospital following quintuple bypass surgery last month.
A hospital spokeswoman said Demler was in fair condition the surgical intensive care unit.
Demler, 36, suffered a slight heart attack at a Sept. 23 Town Board meeting. He was admitted to the hospital then and he was discharged early in October.
Injured driver faces DWI charge
LOCKPORT -- A man charged with driving while intoxicated was listed in fair condition today in Lockport Memorial Hospital after being injured in a one-car crash Monday night.
Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy Maurice Britt said he charged Kurtis E. Krueger, 31, of 7277 Chestnut Ridge Road with DWI and failure to keep right. The accident occurred at 6:54 p.m. on Chestnut Ridge Road just east of Rochester Road. Krueger told Britt an unknown vehicle entered the road from the Quality Market parking lot, causing him to swerve to avoid a collision. Krueger's car crossed the road and went into a ditch.
Britt said Krueger suffered a fracture or dislocation in the hip or upper thigh area.
Falls visitor's travel bag stolen
NIAGARA FALLS -- A Japanese tourist told Officer Karl P. Brusino his travel bag was stolen in the city bus station, 343 Fourth St., about 4:45 p.m. Monday.
Yuichiro Morikawa of the island of Hokkaido in northern Japan said the bag contained $775 worth of property, including his clothing, a camera, 10 rolls of film, a video adapter and 10 videotapes, and souvenirs.
