St. Peter Claver Youth Program, a non-profit youth services organization serving Buffalo's inner city for 23 years, will hold a community registration and open house from 7 to 9 p.m. today at 185 Lang St.
Refreshments will be served and board and staff members will be available at the facility in the Turner Carroll High School complex. The group provides safe and productive after-school activities for high school students on Monday and Wednesday evenings and for junior high students on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Activities include sewing for beginners, basic computer literacy classes, cooking, gymnastics, sports, field trips and a tuition assistance scholarship program.
An annual membership fee of $10 per person, which covers all activities and materials, is due at the time of registration, said David Maxwell, program director.
