A Butler Avenue man was wounded Sunday afternoon in a hail of .45-caliber bullets, one of which struck a house.

Haasan Z. Marshall, 20, of 43 Butler was walking up the driveway at 29 Butler at 1 p.m. when several shots were fired from a passing car.

Marshall was taken to Erie County Medical Center with a wound in the lower right side of his back. He was listed in fair condition Sunday night.

Next door, at 25 Butler, one .45-caliber round burst the water pipe under the kitchen sink, causing water damage to the floor. The residents were not injured. Cold Spring officers recovered that bullet, as well as two from 29 Butler.

The car was described as a gray Pontiac with tinted windows.
