Anthony Rizzotto, 82, of Linwood Avenue, a lifelong Niagara Falls resident, died Sunday (Oct. 20, 1996).
Born in Niagara Falls, he attended local schools.
Rizzotto worked as a plumber for Gross Plumbing for 10 years until retiring in 1979. Prior to that, he worked as a plumber for Carborundum Co. for 20 years.
He played football as a fullback during the 1930s in the North End Muny League. He was honored in 1972 at a league reunion for his achievement in sports.
Rizzotto was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Rose Ciadella; a son, Joseph A. of Lewiston; three daughters, Annette Valenti of the Town of Niagara, Rosemary Taylor of Los Angeles and Margaret Arnone; a brother, Victor of Wheatfield; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Church, South Avenue and 11th Street. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.[nstrng]
