MEN'S SOCCER: The Clarence threesome of Tom Cordero, Chad Donaldson and Matt Parente led Fredonia to a 7-0 soccer victory Friday over visiting Oswego.
Cordero scored twice, Donaldson posted the shutout and Parente added a goal on an assist from Matt Albrecht (City Honors) as the Blue Devils improved to 14-1, 6-1 in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
In Philadelphia, sophomores Trevor Carlson and Pat Filipovitz scored late in the second half to give St. Bonaventure a 4-2 Atlantic 10 victory over St. Joseph's. The Bonnies are 5-7-2.
At Cortland, the Red Dragons beat Buffalo State and dropped the Bengals to 3-10, 2-6.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Melissa McAuley (North Collins) scored midway through the first half to tie the game for Fredonia (5-8-2) but the second of Missy Dereolica's two goals with 2:28 left in the second overtime gave host Oswego State a 2-1 victory. . . . Cortland scored in each half and outshot host Buffalo State, 35-3 and handed the Bengals (1-10) a 2-0 defeat.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Kathy Brinkworth became the first University at Buffalo player to reach 500 kills and 500 blocks with eight kills in the Royals' three-game sweep over Niagara at Alumni Arena. She reached the milestone in blocks last weekend. Christina Gianino had 20 assists and seven digs as UB squared its record at 12-12. . . . Senior Jackie Grady, St. Bonaventure's career assist leader, dished out 34 with seven kills and seven digs as Bona (4-15) swept Fordham in three games in an Atlantic 10 match.
