Here we go again with the commuter-tax idea. The Buffalo politicians just don't get it, do they? They should take the lead from businesses: When sales are down, don't raise prices, have a sale. All this tax will accomplish is to chase more business to the suburbs.
Perhaps the suburbs should retaliate by putting in a shopping tax. Anyone who shops in the suburban stores and lives in Buffalo would pay, let's say, a 1/2 percent additional sales tax.
