The Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens will hold a bulb-forcing class at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The $10 cost includes instruction, a handout and one pot of soil and bulbs; each additional pot is $5. Call 827-1584 to register.

The Orchard Park Garden Club will hold a Hedgerow Treasures sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the old railroad depot behind the public library on South Buffalo Street in Orchard Park. Arrangements of natural materials in baskets, sprays and wreaths will be for sale.

Master gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be testing soil pH from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Amherst Main Library, 350 John James Audubon Parkway. Bring a half-cup of dry soil; call 689-4922.

The Niagara Frontier Orchid Society will hold an orchid show from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Creative Arts Building at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

David Junkin, director-naturalist at the Beaver Meadow Nature Center, will present a free program on attracting, identifying, feeding and sheltering birds at 1 p.m. Saturday at Menne Nursery, 3100 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. Reservations are recommended; call 693-4444.

The Cheektowaga Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cleve-Hill High School cafeteria. Florence DaLuiso and Maria Gerbracht from the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens will discuss upcoming events at the gardens.

The Smallwood Garden Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst. Carole Melnik of a Snail's Place will present a program on Oriental flower arranging.
