Retirement isn't for everybody. Especially grandfathers who happen to be boxers.
Larry Holmes, just two weeks shy of 47, and Sugar Ray Leonard, 40, just can't resist the urge not to stay away.
Former heavyweight champion Holmes (65-5), four months after saying he would not fight again unless the opponent was George Foreman, announced he will fight Brian Nielsen (30-0) of Denmark on Jan. 24 in Copenhagen.
The Washington Post is reporting that Leonard is back. Leonard (36-2-1) will unretire for the fifth time to take on Hector "Macho" Camacho, probably in February.
"Everything in principle is done," Mike Acri, promoter for Camacho, said.
"His coming back is a done deal," Ollie Dunlap said of Leonard. Dunlap is a longtime friend of Leonard's.
