ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS, but not Fox, will broadcast live coverage of this year's second and final presidential debate, originating at 9 p.m. EDT tonight from San Diego.
When the debate ends at 10:30 p.m., the four networks will air a half-hour of analysis.
Fox Broadcasting will carry the National League playoff game between baseball's Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals.
On cable, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC will carry the debate.
Afterward, CNN will have a special edition of "Larry King Live" with independent presidential candidates including Ross Perot and Ralph Nader. CNN will present debate analysis from midnight to 12:30 a.m.
Perot also has purchased a half-hour of time on NBC, due to air at 8:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m., C-SPAN will present a "Presidential Preview," providing a look at how the candidates and the host city prepare.
