TRICK-OR-TREATING, ANNUAL PARADE ARE SCHEDULED BY VILLAGE BOARD

The Village Board has scheduled trick-or-treating for 3 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

The annual Halloween Parade will be held at noon Oct. 26 along Temple Street.

Also on Monday night, the three trustees in attendance approved the annual Fredonia Chamber of Commerce Christmas program, scheduled for Dec. 7 at Barker Common. The annual community caroling will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22 at Barker Common.

In other matters, the board:

Disclosed that overnight parking on the East and West lots, banned during the Route 20 reconstruction project, soon will be available.

Hired architect Carol Case Siracuse for a fee of up to $1,850 to study restoring the Barker Library and Museum.

Revealed that consulting engineer Robert Brown of Jamestown will be paid as much as $2,650 for plans, specifications and services during the repair of the booster-pumping station on Vineyard Drive.

Revealed that surveyor Wendy Woodbury Straight will be paid up to $450 for work for the sewer easement for the Barker Library-Town of Pomfret Hall complex. The town will share the cost.

Awarded a $6,480 contract to Jamestown Roofing to repair the roof of the wastewater-treatment plant.

Plans to change the way industrial sewage processed at the plant is tested for strength. Proposed is testing done in-house, savings costs and meaning results will be available sooner, Chief Operator Frank Flagella told the board.

A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28.
