Thirteen members of the Fredonia High School football team lost more than the game Saturday when $430 was taken from their wallets during a game at Lackawanna High School.
The money was stolen from the locker room at the high school between 2 and 4 p.m., while the game was going on, Lackawanna police said.
A witness reported seeing an unfamiliar individual in the locker room, according to police.
The witness allegedly asked the person why he was there, and he said he needed to use the facilities, police said.
The Fredonia team also lost the game to an undefeated Lackawanna team, 52 to 0.
Investigation into the theft is continuing, police said.
